X General Assembly of the Spanish Red Cross: Safe and Comfortable Voting

The case of the Spanish Red Cross

The Red Cross is the largest NGO in the world. Founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1863, it is present in more than 190 countries. Made up of almost 100 million volunteers, members and collaborators, its humanitarian task is based on protecting life and dignity and providing assistance to victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence.

In this case, the Spanish Red Cross wanted to hold its 10th General Assembly on March 25, 2023 to choose the members of its new Board of Directors.

Our client

Meeting the highest standards

We knew that the security, reliability and usability of the online voting service would be extremely important for the realization of this project.

The client needed to be able to adapt the structure of the telematic voting to be as similar as possible to in-person voting, as their voters had been accustomed to for years. Therefore, the fluidity, usability and versatility of the system were key points to take into account.

After receiving multiple recommendations from different institutions of the Barcelona City Council and after verifying that we complied with ISO 27001 and ISO 9001, the Data Protection Department gave its verdict, approving our high standards in this area.

"It was important to be able to ensure the security of the process and to get a high turnout."

Getting to know the people behind the Red Cross

From the beginning we wanted to get involved with the client to better understand their needs and make their Assembly a complete success. We met to get to know the faces of the people we would be working with and did several simulations of the process, until we found the best fit.

In addition, we were asked to be present at the event to provide assistance. Voters felt accompanied at all times, as they had a dedicated support team to help them in case they had any doubts.

In this way, and being able to count on the results immediately, a great fluidity was achieved, greatly reducing the duration of the assembly, without leaving security behind at any time.

The consequences of doing things right

After the Assembly was held, the organizers sent us their comments. The process was simple, comfortable and practical. There was 100% participation. Everyone was able to vote, from the youngest to the most veteran within the organization. We were able to achieve this thanks to the good coordination, the support provided and the confidence transmitted to the voters.

The feedback received from voters reached the ears of the Red Cross organizers, who kept receiving compliments on the good administration and simplicity of the online voting tool they contracted.

If this sounds like a good outcome for you and you would like to receive this same service and use the same telematic voting tool as the Spanish Red Cross, contact us or request a no-obligation demo.
